The Pancake experiment: orange chocolate chip pancakes

I used plain pancake mix and threw in some orange extract and chocolate chips to make these tasty pancakes.

Add the chocolate chips after you pour the batter onto the pan, wait for the bubbles, then flip...

Lovin' how golden brown this one came out!

Little Gaston is getting bigger. We think he is having a growth spurt- he's hungry all the time lately! He's still so cute and cuddly, though.

The Pancake Experiment: Chocolate Waffles

OHHHH These were so good! Almost like brownies for breakfast..

It's too bad I didn't have any cherries for the top. You could put all your favorite sundae toppings on it- chocolate sauce, nuts, etc!

They are so easy to make:
Ingredients:
1& 1/2 cp Bisquick
1/2 cp sugar
1/3 cp cocoa (sweet or unsweet depending on how sweet you want them)
3/4 cp water
2Tbs oil
2 eggs

Heat waffle iron. You may need to coat it with non stick spray.
Stir all ingredients together.
Pour about 1/3 cp onto center of waffle iron and close top- or follow instructions for your machine.
When they are done cooking, it's time to add all your favorite toppings and dig in!

I love the heart shaped waffle iron! hmm..Valentine's Day is coming...

Must See Hairdos!!

It is my great fortune to have a mother who does hair. Here are some of her works of art upon my humble head...

This one looks kind of French, I think. Very elegant

Victory rolls!! I go to a lot of themed dances and need lots of retro hairdos like this one. That's a dress I made too!

A cascade of curls down one side.  She did this on a bride last summer and it was nothing short of gorgeous.

My Rosie the Riveter costume for Halloween needed some fancy-ing up. Mom knew what to do!

This has to be one of my favorites! A bumper bang with lots of beautiful curls !

Vigorous dancing can take its toll on my curls (my hair is super straight) so a few bobby pins and the previous hairdo became this! Still looks fabulous!

And we can't forget the hair bow she gave me for the 'It's a Wonderful Life' dance competition in Seneca Falls!
People were coming up to me all night wanting to know where I had my hair done.

Her latest creation was for a holiday dance I went to last month.
If you like what you see, feel free to pin any of these pictures on Pinterest.com or share on your favorite networking sites!

Gooey s'more cookies

So pretty and delicious! I used an old chocolate drop cookie recipe and added some toppings to make this ooey and gooey.

the Special dark chocolate chips are my favorite for baking and snacking..

After mixing up the cookies, I put some chocolate chips on top and cut the marshmallows in half (or thirds) like shown below.

Then put the marshmallow half on top of the chocolate chips like so:
ok, ok, I've teased you long enough. Here's the recipe:

Combine 1/2cp soft BUTTER, 1/2cp BROWN SUGAR, and 1/4cp WHITE SUGAR in a large bowl.

Beat 1 EGG and 1 tsp VANILLA EXTRACT together then add to butter mixture.

Combine 1cp FLOUR, 1/4cp UNSWEET COCOA, and 1/2 tsp BAKING POWDER in a separate bowl then stir into butter mixture.
Preheat oven to 350F.

Drop onto cookie sheet by rounded Tablespoons.
Bake for 5 min.

Put chocolate chips on the tops of the cookies. Then cut the marshmallows as shown above, and place them on top.

Bake 5 min. more and you have gooey chocolate insides to devour with milk. mmmm..
