The Butler Snapped His Fingers

Here Is my new Butler! I just love him so much! What should I name him??

I made him last night with a big sheet of cardboard and my craft paints. My utility knife freed him from the flat world of the cardboard and some heavy duty tape secured him to my fireplace.

He's not very good at being a butler...but he sure looks the part!

Love ROCKS!!

Here's a cute project for curb appeal.

I collected rocks while out with my honey and painted them to decorate my front steps!
Be sure to use paints that will hold up to the elements if you are going to place them outside. I used acrylic paint that said 'interior/exterior' right across the front of the bottle. You could paint all sorts of things on them!

Remove paint splatter from wood trim AFTER IT DRIES!!

So Oh my gosh! This is so amazing! When I bought my house, I noticed that the previous painters did a really bad job of coloring in the lines (see above). It really bothers me when I see paint splatters all over these lovely wood borders :( But these had clearly been there a long time and were definitely dried paint so...what to do?

You knew I already had an answer, right? Of course you did! Look how beautiful they came out!!

Here's another BEFORE picture. I just took an old toothbrush and dipped it in rubbing alcohol and brushed it away.

All gone!! Awesome. Easy. Done.
Here's another one I did^^  Before..
..and the amazing after!

Garden Time!!

This is my favorite time of year. Time to get planting! But first, it's time to spruce up the gear.
I painted this plant stand in checks with some black and white Indoor/Outdoor acrylic paints.

Then it was time to do something about those BORING planters.

Welcome to fairy land!

Gaston! why are you always sleeping when there's work to be done?!

Latest Projects- Home Decor

I'm pretty proud of this one! Found a way to disguise my bookshelf! I used lace curtains for the first layer so I can still get  into the book shelf part. The top layer is an old sheet that I draped over it and then cut straight up the center. I made some bows out of scrap fabric and lace then used them to secure the slit open, sewing them in place where I wanted the parting.

Found this tray at a garage sale. Thought I'd freshen it up with some paint.

I think I will use some stamps to put a pattern on it. Or I could decoupage it...Or it does look nice like this too..

Patriotic Baseballs for a Festive Centerpiece

This is a project for those old baseballs. Mine was an old Red Wings ball.
I started by tracing 3 sizes (big, medium, tiny) of stars on the middle section.
Then I painted the background blue, carefully leaving the stars white.

As you've probably already guessed, the next step is to paint red and white stripes on the unpainted section.

I found it helpful to draw the lines before painting.

It looks great! Imagine a bunch of these in a bowl. Bam! Patriotic centerpiece.

Acorns for Halloween

Here's a fun DIY Halloween craft to make from acorns.

First, take off the tops and coat the nut with ModPodge.
Let dry and apply a second coat.

Next, paint them orange.
They already look like pumpkins!!

With a fine tipped brush, paint little Jack o Lantern faces on them.
OMGHOWCUTEISTHAT!!!!???
You could plant them all over the house, or dress up a dollhouse for Halloween, or put a bunch of them on display in a bowl...

Meanwhile, I will be carving my very first ever jack o lantern. GAH!! I'm so excited....:D
Happy Halloween all!
